About Us

Our Story...

Being born and raised in East Tennessee means that game days surrounded by the butter smothered, deep fried goodness of Southern cooking is a way of life.  

I took an interest in cooking as a teenager, and my self-taught skills through trial and error, in combination with methods and recipes that have been handed down to me from generations of family members are tools that I am excited to share with my own little Sous Chef.

My husband, Sam, is a Montreal native, whose parents immigrated from Egypt and Syria, so Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cooking has also become a major culinary interest in our home.

While my degrees from The University of Tennessee are in Advertising and Business, I have also  previously worked as a Fitness Trainer, I am a Public Speaker, Substance Abuse Advocate, and Published Author.

Sam and I have been married for 18 years, and following the Half Pint Sous, we welcomed our son, Jameson Jeffrey (J.J.)  We live in East Tennessee, where my husband is a cosmetic dentist.

What began as a fun, mother - daughter hobby, eventually grew into our Half Pint Sous Facebook and Instagram pages, as well as our YouTube channel.

We've since decided to reach beyond social media in the creation of this site, so that our recipes can be shared with a much wider audience.

We are so glad that you're here, and hope that you enjoy our recipes as much as we enjoy sharing them with you.
